Scrapbooking Graduation Memories

Mar 25th, 2009 by contributor | 0

Graduation is a very good theme for use in a scrapbook. This kind of scrapbook could be started years before the graduation or just a few months ahead of the event. A comprehensive book could be made if you collected material for it over several years. You and your child could work together on the album, or it could be your secret project. Your scrapbook could be created as a traditional scrapbook or you could make a digital scrapbook.

Your child will love looking back on all these memories. A scrapbook with many rememberances about the good times and the tough times will become something treasured.

Graduation themes are available in scrapbook papers and in digital scrapbook kits. Print out pictures, clip art or illustrations and trim them to make your own scrapbook embellishments. Prevent damage or deterioration and discoloration of the photos and other memorabilia in your scrapbook by using archival safe paper and glue.

Anything you can add that show off your child’s hobbies, club memberships, or special achievements would be great, and add personal notes and/or newspaper clippings. Copies of report cards or any special awards are other possibilities to use. Photos, notes or any other memorabilia from friends and family would be nice to add. Also, any personally written notes about your dreams and wishes for them are nice to include. For digital scrapbooking, you can scan these items.

Other ideas: Include each high school or middle school yearly photo on separate pages. School dances or prom mementos. Use some graduation stickers as extras or embellishments. Dedicate a page for each year, such as: freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Die cuts can be used to add interest to your pages. Die cuts are colorful paper or chipboard shapes with themes such as music, dance, or sports. These can be bought at art, craft and scrapbook supply stores.)

You can also leave room for candid photos of the graduation ceremony, parties, or events held before the graduation. Announcements about the graduation, as well as graduation ceremony invitations may need room on your pages. You can add hand-written notes as journal entries under the photos.

Pick out a nice binder or scrapbook album to keep the graduation scrapbook pages in. Find a scrapbook album that is large so that you will have room for photos, awards or other school memorabilia.

After graduation, when the diploma arrives, you might include a copy of it in the album. These years are worth remembering, so keep up-to-date with saving and colleting items to use for your scrapbook. High school, college or even middle school students will treasure their graduation scrapbook, and it would make a great gift. And those memories are the kind you want to keep and share forever.
